The CULT3 can be combined with most
of the rescues currently on the market.
The initial installation of the rescue must
be tested by a certified compatibility con-
troller. This procedure tests the function-
ality of the rescue activation and certifies
the compatibilty according to the rescue
testing and packing documentation.
It is crucial that the pilot himself does the
test activation of the rescue while sitting
in a harness simulator, because different body types and strengths can influence the ac-
tivation.
Before the installation, it should be checked if the rescue must be repacked. Packing in-
terval is normally every six months, as per the operating instructions of the rescue. All of
the required connection parts e.g.shackles must be at hand.
Connection of the rescue with the harness and rescue handle
The rescue consists of the rescue itself, the red rescue handle as well as a connection
strap from the harness to the rescue.
The rescue handle must be led through the loop on the inner container of the rescue.
This should unconditionally be the outermost loop. Corner or middle loops may not be
used (compare pictures above).
In order to connect the rescue to the harness, the connection line of the rescue must be
attached to the connection strap of the harness with a connecting part of at least 2400
daN strength, e.g. Maillon Rapid 6 mm shackles. Additionally, the straps should be fixed
with rubber rings on both sides of the shackle. Strap/strap connections are not recom-
mended, since they slip when asymmetrically fixed and can tear upon rescue activation
from the heat of the resulting friction.
