An RS232 interface is provided for communicating with the 6500. With this interface, complete master clock
programs can be uploaded or downloaded using the MC Programming Software (9800-1010). For details on the
MC Programming Software refer to the MC Programming User’s Manual.
The 6500 can synchronize with other 6500’s.
The 6500 can receive 10-Byte messages via RS232 from a computer or other master clock time references.
These 10-Byte messages can include Time in 12 or 24-Hour format, Date, and Day of the Week.
In addition the 6500 will automatically transmit 10-Byte messages for time, in 12 or 24 Hour format, for use by
other Master Clocks. This information will be sent once each minute at the top of the minute (00
th
second).
8.4 BCD / EBCD TIME CODE OUTPUT
Built-in BCD and EBCD time code outputs are provided for Celestra and Simplex AE Series Digital Clocks.
Automatically transmits BCD data in 12 or 24 Hour format.
To select Extended BCD (EBCD) output, press [2] [5] [ENTER].
Then press any key to toggle back and forth from “Standard BCD” to “Extended BCD” and vice versa. Press
[Enter} when the desired time code output is shown.
8.5 ADVANCE RELAYS 3 AND 4
[2] [A] [ENTER]
Use this function to advance analog clocks manually using relays 3 and 4. This function is only available if a
Secondary Clock Mode is selected.
Press [2] [A] [ENTER]. The display will show:
Press [3] to activate Relay 3, press [4] to activate Relay 4. The respective relays will activate momentarily for
