Overheating
Reduce the amount of pressure and sharpening time
Cool tool in water between sharpening. Before continuing, make sure bit is
completely dry.
One part of the tool edge is longer
than the other, and the point is
not centred
Uneven sharpening
To fix an unevenly sharpened tool, reinsert and sharpen the shorter side
for a little longer
To prevent this from happening sharpen both sides for the same amount of
time, applying the same amount of downward pressure whilst sharpening
Unsatisfactory sharpening result
