4.2 Installation
4.2.1 Installation
Site
All the energy supplied to the centrifuge is converted into heat and emitted to
ambient air.
•
Ensure sufficient ventilation.
•
Keep a safety distance of at least 30 cm around the centrifuge so that the
vents in the centrifuge remain fully effective.
•
Do not position the centrifuge near heat generators.
•
Avoid direct sunlight (UV radiation).
•
The table must be stable and have a solid, even surface.
)
Attention!
During transport from cold to warmer places, condensation will collect inside the
centrifuge. It is important to allow sufficient time for drying before the centrifuge
can be used again.
4.2.2 Connection
The operating voltage on the name plate must correspond to the local
supply voltage!
SIGMA laboratory centrifuges are units of safety class I and have a three-wire
power cord with a IEC C13 connector.
On the back, next to the mains power input, there is an additional ground wire
connector (see Fig. 5.2, page 25) where a separate ground wire can be
connected. This ensures that the admissible leakage current cannot shock
anyone if a problem with the protective ground wire system were to occur. Only
authorized and specialized personnel are permitted to connect the unit. Please
contact the head of our service team (see 6.2.9 "Service Contact", page 49).
4.2.3 Fuses
Typically, the centrifuges must be protected on site with 16 A fuses of class "B" or
"L".
