Drywall:
•
if the frequency is smaller than 4 Hz, a transient will be triggered
for a
lower
level than the selected Trigger level.
•
if the frequency is between 4 Hz and 15 Hz, a transient will be
triggered at the selected Trigger level.
•
if the frequency is larger than 15 Hz a transient is triggered for a
higher
level than the selected Trigger level.
Plaster:
•
if the frequency is smaller than 2.6 Hz, a transient will be
triggered for a
lower
level than the selected Trigger level.
•
if the frequency is between 2.6 Hz and 10 Hz, a transient will be
triggered at the selected Trigger level
•
if the frequency is larger than 10 Hz a transient is triggered for a
higher
level than the selected Trigger level.
Example 1 (Drywall):
Suppose that selected trigger level is 0.75 in/s, which is equal to the
nominal level for Drywall. A transient will be triggered if a signal (peak)
is greater than:
•
0.38 in/s, if its frequency is 2 Hz
•
0.75 in/s, if its frequency is in the range 4 - 15 Hz
•
2.0 in/s, if its frequency is larger than 40 Hz
Example 2 (Drywall):
Suppose now that selected trigger level is
decreased
to 0.25 in/s
compared to Example 1. A transient will be triggered if a signal (peak) is
greater than:
•
0.126 in/s, if its frequency is 2 Hz
•
0.25 in/s, if its frequency is in the range 4 - 15 Hz
•
0.67 in/s, if its frequency is larger than 40 Hz
As can be seen, all three figures above are decreased to
a third
of the
values in Example 1. [
