3.6.8
Optical bus terminal (OBT) for PROFIBUS (option G71)
PROFIBUS OBT is a network component for use in optical PROFIBUS DP fieldbus networks.
The individual bus nodes are connected using two-phase plastic fiber-optic cables. This also
provides an automatic isolation. Potential differences in large-scale plants do not have any
influences. The OBT has the following interfaces:
● Channel 1 is an electrical RS485 interface provided as a 9-pin SUB-D socket. This interface
establishes the connection to the drive control.
● Channels 2 and 3 are the optical interface. These take the form of a duplex socket and can
be used to provide a connection to higher-level control systems.
3.6.9
Indicator lamps in the cabinet door (option K20)
This option provides five lamps in the cabinet door of the control section that signal the
operating status.
● Fault (red)
● Alarm (yellow)
● Operating (green)
● Ready for operation (white)
● Operation in local mode (white)
3.6.10
Display instruments in the cabinet door for voltage, current, speed, and output
plus indicator lamps (option K21)
Analog display instruments that display process variables as % are integrated in the cabinet
door:
● Motor current (0 to +120%)
● Motor speed (–120% ... 0 … +120%)
● Calculated motor power (0 to +120%)
● Motor voltage (0 to +120%).
Note
Option K21 contains option K20.
3.6.11
Safe Torque Off
"Safe Torque Off" is a function that prevents the drive from restarting unexpectedly according
to EN 60204-1, Section 5.4. The safety-related STO function is integrated in the drive, and is
independent of the operating functions of the drive.
