3.1 Connecting to the Device
Serial Console and Management Ports
Connect a workstation directly to the serial console or management ports to access
the boot-time control and RUGGEDCOM RX1501 interfaces. The serial console port
provides access to RUGGEDCOM RX1501's console interface, while the management
port provides access to RUGGEDCOM RX1501's console and Web interfaces.
The serial console port implements RS232 DCE (Data Communication Equipment) on
a DB9 connector. The following is the pin-out for the port:

For information about how to connect to the device via the management port,
refer to either the "RUGGEDCOM ROX Web Interface Configuration Manual" or the
"RUGGEDCOM ROX CLI Configuration Manual" for the RUGGEDCOM RX1501.
The management port is a 10/100Base-TX copper Ethernet port with an RJ-45
connector. The following is the pin-out for the management port:

Communication Ports
Connect any of the available Ethernet ports on the device to a management
switch and access the RUGGEDCOM RX1501 console and Web interfaces via the
