Sending SMS
(text messages)
You can use your base to send and receive
SMS messages via the fixed line/ISDN and
VoIP.
You must specify the line via which SMS are
sent. You can receive SMS messages (abbre-
viation: SMS) via all of your base's connec-
tions except for Gigaset.net.
Your base is delivered ready to send SMS
messages as soon as the phone is connected
to the fixed line/ISDN. If you do not specify
any settings, the SMS messages are sent via
the fixed line/ISDN.
Prerequisites:
u
Calling Line Identification is enabled for
the VoIP, fixed line or ISDN connection(s)
via which you wish to send/receive SMS
messages. Calling Line Identification
must not be withheld
u
Your network provider supports the SMS
service (information on this is available
from your network provider).
u
To receive SMS messages, you must be
registered with your SMS service pro-
vider. This happens automatically when
you send the first SMS via the provider's
service centre.
Please note:
If you wish to receive SMS messages via sev-
eral MSNs, you must register each MSN sep-
arately with your service provider.
