Installation
Before commencing installation, ensure that the following accessory parts are available:
7XV5662-0AD00: Interface cable, shielded (4-core for the E1/T1 interface, balanced
mode)
7XV5662-0AD01: 2 coaxial interface cables with BNC 75
Ω
(for the E1 interface,
unbalanced mode)
Manual for the protection device or the other serial device
Optical fibre cable fitted with ST-connectors at both ends
Connection of the communication network
This Manual
Before installing the CC-2M, ensure ESD (

The CC-2M is clamped onto a standard mounting rail (IEC 60715, TH 35-7.5).
Attach solid, low-resistance protective ground and operational earth on the rear panel of
the device by means of a M4 screw. It is located on the right above the power supply
voltage terminals. The cross-section of the cable must be greater than or equal to the
cross-sectional area of any other control conductor connected to the device. Further-
more, the cross-section of the ground wire must be at least 2.5 mm
2
(AWG 13).
Connection of the E1/T1 interface:
7XV5662-0AD00: With a screwdriver, connect the two core pair ends to the connec-
tion E1/T1 of the CC-2M. Connect the remaining conductor (screen) to terminal “S” of
the connection. Attach and earth the screening on both sides.
7XV5662-0AD01: Connect both configured BNC cables (75
Ω
) to the BNC connec-
tion.
It is essential to ensure that the wiring between the interfaces is correct.
A shielded cable is recommended (see also signal connection).
Connect the transmission line of your protection device (fibre optic) to the reception
connection of the CC-2M. Connect the second connection, the reception interface of your
protection device (fibre optic), to the transmission connection of the CC-2M.
With a screwdriver, connect the cables of the auxiliary voltage at your disposal to the
CC-2M. Ensure that the cable is fitted correctly.
The alarm relay GOK (DR) contact can be connected as a NO contact or as a NC contact.
The NO contact is normally appropriate, so that the contact opens if the auxiliary voltage
fails.
