The “Module data” function can be used to access the parameters of each module connected to the WI180C-
IOA00. The desired addressing is specified in function 262 “module communication tunnel”:
•
Subindex 1 - Desired module for parameter communication (1 ... 16)
•
Subindex 2 - Address of the desired parameter (see below)
•
Subindex 3 - Desired data length in bytes (0 ... 32)
After writing function 262, function 263 “Module data” can be used to read the desired parameter (for read
access) or, after setting the data in subindex 1, to write to the parameter (for write access).
In the case of read access, the associated address data can be verified via subindexes 2, 3, 4 (see function 262
for coding). These subindexes are meaningless for write access.
Besides the parameter data of the modules, function 269 “Module process data” can also be used to read the
currently valid process data of a specific module. This makes it possible to access each process datum regardless
of the setting in index 67 or 120.
NOTE
Access to the functions 262, 263, 269 is via ISDU communication and is therefore slower than communication via
the process data channel.
Function 270 “Module count” returns the current number of connected modules.
