NOTE
For the WI180C-IOA00, only the digital switching signals can be used as signal inputs.
NOTE
The screen is grayed out until you click on the Edit button,
and the standard functions on the individual pages", page 16
.
Creating a logic system
Select the required logic gate:
1.
Click on the logic gate and drag it into the working area. For the WI180C-IOA00,
only once instance of Smart Task A00 is available as a logic gate.
NOTE
If you have selected the wrong logic block or want to remove a logic block, click on
it and drag it back onto the selection bar. A Trash icon is displayed which you can
use to remove the logic gate from the working area.
Creating connections from the inputs to the logic gates:
1.
Doubleclick the desired input and drag the arrow to the desired input logic gate.
✓
A connecting line is then created.
Note that you can drag the line to a desired input logic gate. As you get close to the
logic gate inputs, they enlarge to accept the connecting line.
As soon as the connection is made, the bends (if there are bends along the connec‐
tion), the position of the logic gate, and the window size can be adjusted. The connec‐
tion is scaled automatically. An incorrect connection can be deleted by clicking and
holding the connecting line. A Trash icon is then displayed at the top center of the user
interface.
Some logic blocks require at least two input signals.
Note that the inputs must always be assigned from top to bottom (e.g., A+B and not A
+D in the case of two inputs).
When creating connections, the inputs are displayed with a red border to indicate that a
connection is still required in this area. The two inputs C and D are only active in the
logical truth table if a connection has been made.
NOTE
Green input arrow and green text: a connection is possible. If no connection is possible,
the text is red and it not possible to drag a connection to the input.
NOTE
Some inputs/outputs and logic gates display a small gear icon that indicates that sev‐
eral additional settings are available. Clicking on the gear icon opens a dialog box with
additional settings that can be configured (e.g., delay time).
Ending the setup process:
1.
Use the
Save Smart Task
button to end the setup process.
✓
The new logic configuration is transferred to the connected WI180C-IOA00.
NOTE
If any connections are faulty or in fact missing, an error is displayed. The success‐
ful transfer is reported in the notification area.
