Operation via IO-Link
The WI180C-IOA00 can exchange process data and parameters via IO-Link. To do this,
connect the device to a suitable IO-Link master. The properties of the IO-Link interface
are shown in
.
7.6.1
Process data
The WI180C-IOA00 uses only incoming process data (Process Data In; data from the IO-
Link gateway to the IO-Link master):
•
Current logic level of the switching signals of the connected modules
•
Processed digital output signals of the Smart Task
•
Integer output signals (measured values) of the connected modules
There are two data formats available for the incoming process data (Process Data In).
You can select between these using the associated IO-Link index,
.
Note that the first file format transmits all switching signals from up to 16 connected
modules but only allows up to 5 measured values to be selected. The second file format
transmits switching signals and up to 7 measured values of the first 7 connected mod‐
ules.
The process data structure is described in
7.6.2
Device data
In addition to the process data, device data (parameters, identification data, and diag‐
nostic information) can be transmitted to and from the WI180C-IOA00 IO-Link hub. A
specific device description file (IODD) together with an IO-Link master can be used for
this function.
