The magnet must be positioned on the active surface of the MAS. The sensor surface
within the circular edge determines the active surface of the sensor. The center of the
magnet needs to be positioned in the center of the sensor. The circular edge serves as
a magnetic positioning and centering aid during installation.
We strongly recommend using SICK magnets specifically designed for this use (e.g.,
MAG-1005-N - part number #5344197).
Further recommended SICK magnets and magnetic brackets with integrated magnets
can be found at

The working distance is defined via encoder magnets. The qualified magnets and the
working distances are shown in table
see table 15, page 22 . Exceeding the distance
can lead to a higher linearity error, falling short of the minimum distance can affect the
EMC performance of the sensor, which is specified in the data sheet.
