Do not install the sensor at locations that are exposed to direct UV radiation
(sunlight) or other weather influences, unless this is expressly permitted in the
operating instructions.

When commissioning, protect the device from moisture and contamination.
■
These operating instructions contain information required during the life cycle of
the sensor.

Notes on UL approval
•
Sensor shall be supplied from a Class 2 voltage supply.
•
UL Environmental Rating: Enclosure type 1
•
UL Temperature range is between -40 ... +60°C
2.3
Intended use
The MAS is a Hall effect sensor and detects the angle between the sensor and magnet.
The sensor has three digital output channels and supports IO-Link Version 1.1.
The angle window and the assignment to the digital output channels can be configured
via IO-Link.
If the product is used for any other purpose or modified in any way, any warranty claim
against SICK AG shall become void.
