Wide Screen (16:9)
Available mode:
TAPE-CAMERA
The wide screen function lets you record
scenes with the wide-screen feel of a movie
shown in a theatre. The top and bottom of the
picture are masked with black bands to
produce an effective screen aspect ratio of
16:9.

In TAPE-CAMERA mode, press the
MENU button until the menu screen
appears.

Turn the CONTROL dial to select
Y
,
then press the dial.

Turn the CONTROL dial to select “16:9”,
then press the dial.

Turn the CONTROL dial to select “ON”,
then press the dial.

Press the MENU button to turn off the
menu screen.
• The picture is displayed with the top and
bottom portions masked.
To return to normal screen
Select “OFF” in step 4 above.
Note:
• When still recording with “9 FRAMES” or “16
FRAMES” effect, each frame will display in
normal (not wide) screen.

Turning on/off the On-
screen Indicators
Available modes:
All modes
You can turn the on-screen indicators on and
off as you like.
Press the DISP. ON/OFF button. The On-
screen indicators will be displayed.
To turn off the On-screen indicators, press
the DISP. ON/OFF button again.
Note:
• When you press the GAMMA/BRIGHTER button,
FADE button or RETURN button after turning off
the On-screen indicators, they will be displayed
automatically.
