The windbreak function allows you to reduce
annoying noise from strong winds when
recording.

Dialog Recording
Available mode:
TAPE-CAMERA
When you want to record from a distance at a
lecture, workshop, or other such occasion, the
speaker’s voice may blend in with ambient
sounds. You can use the Dialog Recording
function to pick up the speaker’s voice more
distinctly.

In TAPE-CAMERA mode, press the
MENU button until the menu screen
appears.

Turn the CONTROL dial to select

then press the dial.

Turn the CONTROL dial to select
“DIALOG REC”, then press the dial.

Turn the CONTROL dial to select “ON”,
then press the dial.

Press MENU button to turn off the menu
screen.
To cancel Windbreak
Select “OFF” in step 4 above.
Note:
• Keep the windbreak function off during normal
recording. If left on “NORMAL” or “STRONG”,
the recorded audio may sound somewhat
muffled when played back.

To cancel Dialog Recording
Select “OFF” in step 4 above.
NORMAL:
When a certain amount of wind
starts to blow during recording, the wind
noise is reduced automatically.
STRONG:
Wind noise is largely eliminated.
Select this setting when the wind is strong
and the noise is irritating.
OFF:
The windbreak function is turned off.
Select this setting when you want to record
sounds without the changes in wind
intensity changing their tonal quality.
