To tune in your set using the satellite receiver:
Connect a satellite antenna (LNB and dish) to the satellite
input on the set (round with a screw thread). Enter the menu > Settings > Channels > select Satellite >
Auto Tuning. Tuning into a satellite signal takes a long time as there are many channels (over 700 on
Astra). When tuned exit the tuning mode. Note that if the set has been tuned in using the Satellite input,
then only satellite signals will be stored. To reduce the number of satellite channels which the set tunes
into, select the satellite(s) which you would like to tune into. Go to the Satellite option in the Auto Tuning
menu to choose the satellites you wish to tune into.
Note
: When selecting a satellite in the Auto Tuning > Satellite option, when you have selected a satellite
name, the signal strength of the transponder will be shown.
Note
: Only certain satellites will transmit UK channels. Refer to a suitable satellite guide for information
on which one you need to tune into.
Satellite Setup
Channel Listing:
When tuning into a satellite, there will be many programs. Some of these programs will be
duplicated because of regional variations. For example, Channel 4 will have London, South East, Scotland,
etc. Each one of these will be stored individually. Logical Channel Numbering (LCN) is not applicable for
satellite tuning as it is on Freeview, i.e. program 1 is BBC1, program 2 is BBC2, etc.
EPG:
When using the EPG, it will be found that there are many duplicated channels. There will also be many
channels in the list in line with the number of channels tuned in; therefore, navigation within the EPG can
be time consuming. Setting of the reminder and PVR functions is the same as when using with Freeview.
Favourites:
As there are a large number of channels and as Logical Channel Numbering is not used, it can
take some time to search for you desired program. It is recommended to use the Favourites function to
store your preferred programs for fast and easy access.
