3.2.6.3 Carrying out an ethane analysis
The device is in measuring mode.
1. Make sure the device is drawing in fresh air.
2. Change to the
Ethane analysis
application.
3. The ethane analysis is generally performed on a bar hole. Use
the localisation probe and a probe hose.
a)
Insert the probe into the bar hole.
b)
Connect the probe hose to the device.
As soon as the measurement value satisfies specific conditions
(gas concentration >1 % vol., stable measurement value), the
Take sample
symbol appears.
4. Press
Take sample
. A message appears.
Note:
An ethane analysis takes approximately 4 minutes. After
Esc
is
used to cancel the analysis, the detector must be purged (see
). This purge cycle also takes 4 minutes.
5.
Confirm the
Take sample?
prompt by pressing
OK
. The gas
sample is taken.
The
Add
fresh air
note appears.
6. Add fresh air.
a)
To do so, remove the probe hose from the device.
b)
Move away from the bar hole. Note the direction of the wind.
As soon as the gas concentration drops below 50 ppm, the
analysis of the gas sample taken starts automatically. The gas
sample analysis is plotted on the display.
