HF... output filter
HF output filters are sine filters for smoothing the output voltage of inverters. HF... output
filters (apart from HF450-503 and HF180-403) are approved according UL/cUL in con-
junction with MOVITRAC
®
.
HF... output filters are used in the following cases:
• In group drives (several motor leads in parallel); the discharge currents in the motor
cables are suppressed.
• To protect the motor winding insulation of non-SEW motors which are not suitable for
inverters
• For protection against overvoltage spikes in long motor cables (> 100 m).
Observe the following notes:
INFORMATION
• Output filters can only be operated in V/f and VFC operating modes.
• Do not use output filters in hoist applications.
• During project planning of the drive, take the voltage drop in the output filter into ac-
count and the reduced motor torque that results. This applies particularly to AC
230 V units with output filters.
