4.2 Configuring the PolaRx5S NTRIP Caster
The PolaRx5S includes a built-in NTR I P Caster that makes correction data from the PolaRx5S
available to up to 10 NTR I P clients (or rovers) over the internet. The caster supports up to
three mount points and can also broadcast correction data from a remote NTR I P server.
All settings relating to the PolaRx5S NTR I P Caster can be con fi gured on the NTR I P Caster
window of the Web I nterface shown in Figure 4-8.

Step 1: Define a new mount point
I n the NTR I P Caster window, click on ‘ Settings ’ .
I n the General Settings fi eld, enable the NTR I P Caster and select the I P port over which you
wish to send correction data: the default port is 2101.
Click on ‘ New mount point ’ as indicated in Figure 4-9. Select ‘ Yes ’ to enable the mount
point and give it a name. This is the name that will appear in the caster source table. Up to
3 mount points can be de
fi ned each with a di ff erent name. You can also select the type of
Client authentication for the mount point: none - any client can connect without logging
in or, basic - clients have to login with a username and password.
To select a correction stream from the NTR I P server of the PolaRx5S, select ‘ No ’ in the ‘ Allow
external server ’ fi eld * .
Click on the ‘ Local Server ... ’ button to enable the local NTR I P server of the PolaRx5S and
to select the individual messages you want to broadcast. By default, correction messages
necessary for RTK are pre-selected. Click
‘ Ok ’ to apply the settings.
