INSTALLATION AND OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS — PERSONAL ALARM SYSTEM
5.5.6
Start with the appropriate zone. At each receiver you will record the following:
(Refer to Table 5-1)
Alarm received
Alarm LED present
Audio received
Audio quality good
Alarm acknowledge
Alarm reset
5.5.7
Test each receiver with the transmitter placed at 15-20 feet. Test again at about
40 feet or at an extreme of the room if less than 40 feet. Momentarily speak to test
audio quality and level. When making the audio tests remember that the system is
designed to pick up the sounds of disturbances. Depending on the room acoustics, it
may be difficult to understand what is said. Check for hum or other improper sounds.
5.5.8
If the receiver sensitivity or audio level is questionable, refer to the adjustment
sections. Retest after any adjustments.
5.5.9
The final test procedure should be run and the system adjusted before final
testing with the owner’s representative. When you are satisfied that the system is
correctly adjusted, an acceptance test should be conducted in the presence of the
owner to verify coverage and obtain owner’s acceptance.
