5.6 Alarms
In order to avoid dangerous situations or to protect the analyser life, some alarm
systems are provided on the unit:
(2) Low level of water on the steam generator alarm
Indicates that a low level of water was detected on the steam generator for a long
time. The microprocessor stops the distillation.
Probably the water reservoir is empty or the water does not have the suitable
conductivity.
(3) «Tube/Door» alarm
Safety door not closed or sample tube not inserted.
This alarm blocks the distillation and the NaOH adding.
(4) «Overtemp» alarm
An excess temperature on the steam generator has switched the safety thermo-
stat.
Block the distillation function.
Once is switched, it must be left to get cool for some minutes. Solve the root
problem that causes the switching and reset the safety thermostat by pushing the
central button. The safety thermostat is located on the electrical box, on the right
hand side. A cover must be removed.
The safety thermostat switching is due to low level of water on the steam genera-
tor, probably because the water reservoir is empty or water pump malfunction.
