8.
Lift
off
UIC
and
place
in
ESD
bag
or
on
clean
ESD
work
surface.
To install UIC:
1.
Make
sure
Segway
PT
is
powered
off
and
unplugged.
2.
Inspect harnesses for damage to insulation or
kinks. Ensure connector locking mechanism is
intact.
If harness wires are pinched or exhibit insulation
damage or the connector is damaged so as to
prevent positive locking upon installation, the
harness must be replaced.
3.
Orient
UIC
in
console
housing.
Make
sure
CU
harnesses
are
properly
positioned
in
plastic
guide
clips
to
prevent
crushing
of
harnesses.
4.
To
avoid
crushing
steering
sensor
harnesses,
make
sure
harnesses
are
properly
positioned
in
channel
around
UIC
mounting
bosses.

Be
sure
retention
putty
is
installed
and
keeps
harness
seated
correctly
around
bosses.
6.
Connect
(2)
CU
harness
connectors
to
front
of
UIC.
7.
Orient
hole
in
UIC
over
locator
pin
(refer
to
1
in
)
and
lower
UIC
into
console
housing,
taking
care
to
fold
harnesses
into
void
without
pinching.
