Console Cover Removal and Installation
The
console
cover
is
rarely
replaced.
It
is
typically
removed
only
when
you
need
to
access
other
console
components,
and
may
be
reinstalled
if
no
damage
occurs
to
the
console
cover
and
gasket
during
removal.
The
console
cover
is
sealed
to
the
console
using
RTV
silicone
sealant.
Peeling
up
of
the
console
cover
is
accomplished
by
overcoming
the
adhesion
of
the
RTV
sealant.
Damage
can
occur
to
the
cover
and/or
gasket
during
removal,
so
extreme
care
is
needed
during
the
removal
process.
If
damaged,
replacement
with
a
new
cover
or
gasket
will
be
necessary.

Because console cover was installed using RTV
sealant, cover strongly adheres to console. Take
care to pry cover loose slowly from console to
avoid damaging cover and gasket.
