FASTENERS
•
Use only Segway-approved fasteners.
•
Do not tighten or reuse any fastener except the screws used to
attach the battery packs, wheel nuts, and LeanSteer frame.
Instead, when any other fastener is loose or removed, replace
the fastener with a new Segway-approved fastener. See
Appendix C, ”Fasteners” for more information.
•
Do not attempt to repair any stripped or damaged screw hole.
Instead, replace the part. If replacement part is not available,
do not reassemble.
•
Insert fasteners slowly and carefully. Do not cross-thread or
over-tighten fasteners. Tighten only to the prescribed torque.
•
Failure to adhere to these warnings could lead to serious injury
or death or damage to property.

When to Replace
You need to replace a tire/wheel
assembly or the tire tube (model i2)
under any of the following
conditions, including, without
limitation:
• Persistent leak in tire after
reinflation
•
Wheel is cracked or bent
•
Tire is flat, cracked, or
excessively worn. Excess wear is
determined as follows:
•
Model i2—Center rib is
worn flush with tire surface
• Model x2—Diamond
pattern on center rib is no
longer visible
• Model x2 Turf—Tire tread
depth is less than 3/32”
(2.38mm)
Tire inflation pressure can
dramatically affect range traction
and tread wear. Ensure tires are
properly inflated as follows:
• (Model i2) 15 psi (1.03 bar)
•
(Model x2) 4 psi (.275 bar)
