negative cable (4), and the ABS negative cable (5), to
the negative terminal of the battery, always starting
from the positive one (+), and start the screws (1).
Charge the battery in a ventilated room. Connect the
battery charger leads to the battery terminals: the
red one to the positive terminal (+), the black one to
the negative terminal (-).
Ducati disclaims any liability deriving from the use of
non-original Ducati chargers or maintainers.
It is recommended to use the Ducati dedicated
battery charge maintainer (Battery Maintenance Kit
part no. 69928471A (Europe), part no. 69928471AW
(Japan), 69928471AX (Australia), 69928471AY (UK),
69928471AZ (USA), available from our sales
network), and to operate as described in the sub-
section “Maintaining the battery charge”.

Keep the battery out of the reach of children.
Attention
Make sure the charger is OFF when you
connect the battery to it, or you might get sparks at
the battery terminals that could ignite the gases
inside the cells. Always connect the red positive (+)
terminal first.
Attention
NEVER connect the battery in parallel with
that of other vehicles, as this may cause a short
circuit or overheating of the battery.
Attention
When connecting the external starting device
to the poles of the vehicle battery, pay utmost
attention not to touch any other metal parts on the
vehicle.
