Turning Parental Controls On or Off
You cannot turn on Parental Controls without first establishing blocks as previously described in
this section. If you have not already set up blocks, please turn to page 73, follow the instructions
to establish blocks, and then return to this page to turn on Parental Control.
When Parental Control is on, the blocks set up as previously described in this section are enabled.
The blocked channels or programs cannot be viewed.
Turning On or Off Parental Controls
To turn on or off Parental Controls:
1.
While watching any TV program full-screen, press the
Settings
button on your remote to
view the Quick Settings menu.
2.
At the Quick Settings menu, use the
Up
or
Down
arrow buttons to highlight
“Turn ON/OFF Parental Control.”
Note:
This control is a “toggle” switch and the
text that appears in the Quick Settings menu
will reflect whether Parental Control is currently
off or on.
3.
Press the
Select
button
to change the
setting to ON or OFF.
4.
Enter your Parental Control Blocking PIN.
Important:
To ensure that the Parental Control feature is on, you should power off the
set-top box. When you power on the STB again, the Parental Control feature will be on.
Please Note:
When you turn off Parental Control using Quick Settings, all channels,
ratings, and times are unblocked!
