5 Installation
Installation must be performed only by qualified electrical and mechanical specialists (see chapter
1.9).
Attach chain hoists, individual parts and larger assemblies carefully to suitable hoists / suspension
devices that are in perfect technical condition and have sufficient load-bearing capacity.
Always observe the safety information for handling loads when transporting and setting up the chain
hoist.
Before setting up, the chain hoist must be stored in a closed room or covered location. The chain hoist
must be properly set up by specialist personnel in compliance with the accident prevention
regulations.
We recommend that the chain hoist be set up in its location of use and connected by specialist
personnel from our service department.
WARNING
Danger due to parts with sharp edges and pinch points
There is a risk of cutting when fitting the parts.
Falling parts can hit and injure people.
Danger of being crushed in the pinch points.

Wear an industrial safety helmet (in accordance with EN 397).

Wear work gloves (in accordance with EN 388 safety category 2133).
►
Wear protective work shoes (in accordance with EN 20345 safety class S1).
►
Do not reach into pinch points.
►
Block off assembly areas to prevent access by third parties.
►
Exercise caution, observe accident prevention guidelines.
WARNING
Risk of injury due to falling parts or persons
This can result in serious injury.

The area around the entire system must be cordoned off when working on the
chain hoist in a crane system.
►
An appropriate climbing aid, lifting platform or fall prevention device must be
used when working over 2 m above ground level.
►
Parts that contribute to the safety and function of the chain hoist must only be
replaced with spare parts that have been approved by the manufacturer.
