2.2.1
Qualification groups for operating and maintenance personnel
The following personnel classification groups are defined for working with the battery-powered lifting magnet and
for its maintenance:
Personnel group
Description
Operator
Expert, at least 18 years old, qualified and trained in operation of the
lifting magnet during handling. Carrying out basic maintenance. The
requirements are listed in section 2.2.2.
Maintenance engineer – mechanic
Expert, at least 18 years old, qualified and trained in carrying out the
tasks with the usual mechanical procedures. Carrying out maintenance or
repairs under normal conditions. The requirements for personnel are listed
in section 2.2.3.
Maintenance engineer – specialist mechanic;
engineer for lifting systems
Expert, at least 18 years old, engineer specially trained or instructed by
SAV GmbH, qualified for carrying out work going beyond the scope of the
usual maintenance and repairs. The requirements for personnel are listed
in section 2.2.3.
Maintenance engineer – mechatronic
Expert, at least 18 years old, qualified and trained in carrying out the
tasks under the usual conditions. Carrying out maintenance and repairs on
electrical equipment. The requirements for personnel are listed in section
2.2.3.
Maintenance engineer – specialised mechatronic
Expert, at least 18 years old, mechatronic specially trained or instructed
by SAV GmbH, qualified for carrying out work going beyond the scope
of the usual maintenance and repairs. The requirements for personnel are
listed in section 2.2.3.
2.2.2
Requirements for operating personnel
Operating personnel for the battery-powered lifting magnet are responsible for safe working with the lifting magnet,
for daily inspections and for maintenance of the device.
Operating personnel working with the battery-powered lifting magnet must meet the follow-
ing requirements:

Operating personnel must have familiarised themselves thoroughly with these operating instructions.
■
Operating personnel must be physically and psychologically capable of working with the lifting magnet.
■
Operating personnel must be trained in the operation of lifting systems.
■
Personnel must be aware of all hazards in connection with operation of the lifting magnet (see section 2.4).
Operating personnel for the lifting magnet primarily have to carry out the following tasks:

Handling loads using a lifting magnet
■
Cleaning and repairs of the function0al surfaces
■
Short-term storage of the lifting magnet
■
Carrying out the daily inspection of the lifting magnet
■
Charging the battery of the lifting magnet
■
Working together with maintenance personnel
