CAPTURING STILL IMAGES

Set the camera to the still image
shooting mode (see page 59).

Take a picture.

Point the camera lens at the
subject. Slowly press and hold the
shutter release button halfway.
œ
The area in the center of the LCD
monitor comes clearly into focus,
and the focus icon
ë
appears in
the upper left corner (focus-lock).
œ
If the Shooting Setting Screen
(see page 45) or Shooting
Information Screen (see page
124) was displayed, it is exited.
œ
The focus icon does not appear if
the focus is set to telephoto

or manual

, or during quick
shot shooting (see page 121).

Press the shutter release button all
the way.
œ
The image is captured.
NOTE
œ
You can view the image captured on the LCD monitor by holding the
shutter release button down.
œ
The stand-by indicator will flash red while the image is being written to the
memory. Another image can only be captured when the stand-by indicator
lights green again.
œ
The camera is ready for capturing the next image after about 1 second.
