Using P-TTL Auto Mode
Use this fl ash mode with the SEF-36PZF or SEF-54PZF fl ash unit. When
fl ash mode is set to [P-TTL auto], the fl ash pre- fi res right before taking pictures
using 16-segment metering and allows more precise control. P-TTL auto mode
is available with SEF-54PZF and SEF-36PZF models while using a wireless
connection.
1. Remove the cover of the hot shoe and attach the external fl ash
(SEF-36PZF or SEF-54PZF).
2. Turn on the external fl ash.
3. Using the external fl ash, P-TTL mode is automatically set to use.
4. Con fi rm that the external fl ash is fully charged and then take the picture.
● P-TTL auto is only available with the SEF-36PZF or SEF-54PZF fl ash
unit.
● The will light in the view fi nder when the fl ash is ready (fully charged).
● For details such as operation method and effective distance, please read
the external fl ash manual.
● The fl ash does not discharge when the subject is bright enough when
Flash Mode is [ Auto ( ) ] or [ Auto+Red-eye ( ) ]. Therefore, it may not
suitable for daylight-sync shooting.
● Never press the fl ash pop up button( ) when any external fl ash unit is
attached to the camera. The built-in fl ash will hit the external fl ash.

Using High-Speed Flash Sync Mode
With the SEF-36PZF or SEF-54PZF, you can discharge the fl ash to take a
picture at a shutter speed faster than 1/180 second. More than two external
fl ashes are required for a wireless connection.
■ Attaching and Using the SEF-36PZF or SEF-54PZF on the Camera
1. Remove the hot shoe cover and attach the external fl ash (SEF-36PZF or
SEF-54PZF).
2. Rotate the Mode dial ( ) to select Tv or M .
3. Turn on the Camera and external fl ash.
4. Set the external fl ash sync mode to HS (high-speed fl ash sync.).
5. Con fi rm that the external fl ash is fully charged and then take the picture.
● The will light in the view fi nder when the fl ash is ready (fully charged).
● High-speed fl ash sync is only available when the shutter speed is faster
than 1/180sec.
● High-speed fl ash sync is not available when the exposure mode is set to
B (Bulb).
