11.2.3 Move the Existing Workbench Database from the Router Door PC
1. Ensure Workbench is installed on the server or client server computer that the
Workbench database is to be hosted on, see section 11.1.
2. Backup the Door PC database as described in the Workbench User manual. The
backup is carried out from the Workbench computer across the network.
3. Once the backup is complete the database must be restored to the Workbench server
or client server computer. The Workbench database should be restored with the name
“WorkBench”. If the database is restored with a different name the program shortcuts
for Workbench and LiveRunner will need to be updated, see the Workbench User
manual for details on restoring the database and changing the program shortcut
names.
4. Workbench now needs to be associated with the restored database, see section
11.2.2 for details.
11.3 Starting Workbench
Workbench should be associated with the database before it is started for the first time, see
section 11.2.
1. Start Workbench from the Windows Start menu.
Start | All Programs | Snell | MCM | Workbench
2. The first time that Workbench is started the database will need to be updated and the
Database Update screen will be displayed (Fig 38.)
3. Click on the Update Database button.
Note:
Remember all of the Workbench and LiveRunner clients on the system need to be
associated with the new database location and this includes Workbench and LiveRunner
on the Door PC.
Note:
Workbench cannot start without updating the database.
