To perform a Lead Offset Test:
1.
Set the electrode configuration with stimulation
electrodes on one lead (usually in the middle of the
lead), measurement electrodes on the other lead
(usually at the top of the lead) and the reference
electrode on the Case electrode (E25) or at the end of
the lead furthest from the stimulation electrodes.
a.
For example: Stimulation on E6, Return on E5
and E7, Measurement on E13, and Reference on
E12.
2.
Touch ‘Lead Offset’
from the neurophysiological measurement menu.
3.
Perform an impedance check. The program will compensate for any disconnected
or shorted electrodes.
4.
Start stimulation in open-loop mode and touch ‘Continue’.
5.
Touch the direction icon for the direction that the measurement electrode should
move (usually down from the top of the lead).
6.
After completion, the Lead Offset program
will graph the test results at the bottom of
the screen. Touch ‘Continue’ to display the
lead offset distance.
7.
Touch ‘Continue’ again for the program to reposition the electrode leads displayed
on CPA to reflect the measured offset or, touch ‘Cancel’.
8.
After the program has completed turn off stimulation and reconfigure the
electrodes for patient therapy use.
Note: The Lead Offset program will report the vertical offset of lead 1 relative to lead 2.
Negative values indicate lead 1 lies more caudal than lead 2. Positive values indicate that
lead 1 lies more rostral than lead 2.
