APPLICATION
The professional two-channel, bass-reflex sound box is recommended for use in larger
rooms by professionals, as stage sound, or for bands. The sound box can be installed on a
stand, or be laid on its side as a stage monitor. In addition to the speakers, the appliance is
equipped with a built-in amplifier, an input mixer, and a multimedia player. External devices
can be directly connected, such as: a CD/DVD player, a microphone, musical instruments, a
sound mixer, a computer or mobile phone. An external passive sound box can be connected
to the speaker output (available separately: PAX 42PRO). As in case of all stage sound
boxes, sound will be mono even with two sound boxes connected.
ÜZEMBE HELYEZÉS
Ensure that connection corresponds to the function displayed on the control panel. Make
all connections of the sound system with the power supply disconnected! Turn off both the
sound box and the device to be connected. Make sure that the connectors have correct
wiring and polarity. Route the microphone cable, audio connection cables and speaker
cables separately from the power supply cable! Connect the connection cable first to the
sound box, while it is switched off, then to the wall socket. Before powering the appliance,
check the connections for correct configuration! Ensure that all connections are stable and
free of short circuit fault, and that the
VOLUME
volume-control is set to minimum position,
in order to avoid damage to the speakers due to a sudden blast of noise when turned on!
In case of connecting a PAX 42PRO passive sound box, first obtain a speaker cable of the
required length fitted with a Speakon plug.
Use the
POWER
switch on the rear panel to turn the sound box on and off. After switching
on, the display lights up and the “
NO
” message indicates that the system is waiting for the
connection of a USB or SD device. To start using the speaker, select the desired operating
mode with the
MODE
button.
VOLUME CONTROL AND TONE ADJUSTMENT, SELECTING FUNCTIONS
Master volume-control:
VOLUME
knob
Tone adjustment:
Adjust the tone of played tracks using the two knobs under the
VOLUME
volume-control knob on the rear control panel. Treble (
TREBLE
) and bass (
BASS
) tone can
be adjusted. This setting will effect playback in all operating modes.
In case of tracks played through BT connection or from a USB/SD storage media, further
tone adjustment is possible. Select one of the pre-set tone settings (musical styles) using
the
EQ
button on the remote-control;
NORMAL / ROCK / POP / CLASSIC / JAZZ / CUT
.
Multimedia player:
the volume of the multimedia unit can be controlled separately by
pressing and holding down the
(
VOL-, VOL+
) buttons, or with the remote-control.
A short pressing down of the button can activate a different function, depending on the
operating mode being used.
Press the
MODE
button to toggle operating modes. Available functions:

MP3 LEVEL
), microphone volume
(
MIC LEVEL
) and LINE IN input (
LINE LEVEL
).
Maximum Volume Setting
All speakers should be run in before normal use. During the first 30 to 50 hours of operation,
it is recommended to operate the speakers with up to 50% volume setting! Higher volume
levels - in some cases - can result in distorted, low sound quality. This may be due to an
excessively high input signal. In order to avoid this, decrease the signal level of the given
input channel, or the master volume (
VOLUME
), if the
CLIP
LED (over control indicator)
lights up. The maximum volume of the system is the one that can still be heard in good
quality without distortion.
• Increasing the volume any further will not increase power output and will increase the
distortion of the system! This can damage the speakers, and lead to defects.
• Only set the volume to a level until no distortion can be heard! Sound quality can be
influenced by the settings of the compression (rendering) program used for the MP3, etc.
tracks and by the volume/tone setting of the given external audio device or mobile device.
• If a microphone is connected, place it as far away from the sound box as possible to avoid
excitation! Do not turn the speaker toward the microphone, as feedback will damage the
speakers. When using a microphone, increase the volume carefully and, if you notice
any excitation, immediately rewind the control and, if necessary, move the sound box to
another position! The microphone should always be behind the sound boxes.
PLAYBACK FROM EXTERNAL STORAGE
The multimedia player is in ready state, when its display is lit. In case of connection of both
a USB and an SD signal source, select the desired source by briefly pressing the
MODE
button. When playback is started from the SD card, after playing the content on the card,
the USB device will be activated. The display shows the time elapsed for the current track
or the track number when scrolling.
To start playback press the
button, but playback will also start automatically when the
external device is inserted. Use the same button to pause playback (
PAUS
appears on the
display), or select a desired track using the forward/back step buttons.
Select playback mode using the
REPT
button;
ALL:
repeat all tracks /
ONE:
repeat one

RANDOM:
random playback order /
FOLDER:

• When you turn on the unit, you can resume playback of the last played track.
• The recommended file system for the storage device is FAT32. Do not use an NTFS
formatted storage device.
• If the device does not emit sound, or it does not recognise the USB storage device, remove
and insert the external device and select the desired function again using the MODE
button. If necessary, turn the power off and back on again.
• Only remove the external storage device after selecting a different playback source
with the MODE button, or after the device is switched off. Otherwise, the data may be
damaged.
Do not remove the connected external unit during playback!
• Storage media can only be inserted in one direction. If it stops, turn it over and try again;
do not force it. Do not touch the contacts with your hand.
• Take care not to damage any devices projecting from the appliance!
• Abnormal operation may be caused by the individual characteristics of the storage device;
this is not a sign of product malfunction.
USING THE RADIO
Select the
FM
radio mode with the
MODE
button. The display shows the tuned frequency.
To start automatic tuning and storage of radio stations, briefly press the
(
PLAY/PAUSE/
FOLDER
) button. When the scan is complete, the device will start playing the first radio
station found. Press the
gombok rövid benyomásával érhetők el. A kijelzőn a
programhely sorszáma mutatja buttons briefly to select further stations. The radio station is
shown on the display with the respective program location (CH01…02…).
• The search stops when it detects varying signal strength – this does not always mean that
a radio program is found.
• The reception capability of the radio largely depends on the place of use and the current
reception conditions.
• In order to increase the efficiency of the built-in antenna, position the appliance so that it
has the best reception! Electrical appliances and large-sized metal objects in the vicinity
can disturb radio reception.
LINE AUDIO INPUTS (MIC INPUT, LINE IN)
AND OUTPUTS (LINE OUT, SPEAKER OUT)
The following options are available for connecting external devices with a headphone or
audio output jack to the built-in amplifier:
MIC INPUT:
∅
6,3 mm + XLR input with separate volume-control, for microphone
LINE IN:
2xRCA connector for devices with a stereo audio XLR input for use from
an external sound mixer
LINE OUT:
symmetrical mono output
∅
6,3 mm + XLR output external amplifier, sound
mixer for amplifier (only works with correctly connected cables and a compatible amplifier
or sound mixer)
SPEAKER OUT:
SPEAKON connector exclusively for a passive sound box with an
impedance of 8 Ohms (available separately: PAX 42PRO)
• Sound quality depends on the quality of the audio signal received from the external device
and the volume and tone settings of the given device.
• In certain cases a connection adapter may be required for proper connection.
• For more information, refer to the user instructions of the device to be connected.
