2.13.3 Battery

Batteries generate explosive gases. Do not use an open flame close to batteries.

The battery electrolyte is corrosive. Keep the electrolyte away from your eyes
and skin. If you are affected by the electrolyte, flush with large quantities of water
and get medical help.
At low temperature, batteries are less efficient. The level of charge is lowered and batted,
will tend to freeze. Maintain batteries full charged wherever practicable, and give attention to
heat insulation at night for the next day's operation.
Check the color of the hydrometer attached to the battery top to charge or replace the battery.
Green ........ Good
Black ........ Discharged too much
White ........ Checking required
