Browser can’t make a
connection to the HA4000
gateway’s management port.
• Verify that the correct management port IP address
is being entered for the connection.
• Verify that HTTP is configured correctly for your
access method (unsecured HTTP, HTTPS, or
HTTP in an IPSec tunnel).
• Make sure that the management port is connected
to the Ethernet network.
• If the management port and the SMC are on
different subnets, verify that the default gateway is
properly configured; for details, see “Assign IP
Addresses” on page 18.
Can’t telnet to the HA4000’s
management port.
• Verify that the correct management port IP address
is entered for the connection.
• Verify that telnet is enabled.
• If IPSec is enabled on the management port, verify
that the IPSec client is enabled on the SMC and
that matching policy settings are configured on
each.
• Make sure that the management port is connected
to the network.
• If the management port and SMC are on different
subnets, verify that the HA4000 is properly
configured; for details, see “Assign IP Addresses”
on page 18.
Configuration
The
HA4000 does not
recognize its new remote
port IP address.
Verify the IP address using the
show ip addresses
command. For instructions, go to “View
Configurations”
on page 39.
Correct the IP address if necessary, save the
configuration, and then reboot the HA4000.
SMC can’t communicate with
the HA4000.
• Verify that an Ethernet cable is connected and
properly seated in the 10/100 management port.
For details, go to “Assign IP Addresses”on page 18.
• Verify that the management port IP address is
configured with the correct subnet.
• Check the management interface default gateway
configuration. If the SMC is on a different subnet
than the HA4000 gateway’s management port,
assign a default gateway. For instructions, go to
“Assign IP Addresses” on page 18.
• Verify that the HA4000 is configured properly for
the management option you are using (IPSec
tunnel, telnet, or HTTP). For details, go to
“Management” on page 10.
The
HA4000 is not sending
SNMP objects to the
management workstation.
• Enable SNMP functionality by setting the
community string. For instructions, go to “Enable
SNMP” on page 32.
• Verify that the SMC’s IP address is configured as
the SNMP trap host destination. For instructions, go
to
“Enable SNMP Traps”
on page 32.
