Operating a Routing Switcher
A routing switcher responds to switch commands from NK Series control devices. These commands contain
source, destination, and level designations. Routing switchers respond to the control device with its new crosspoint
switch status.
NK Series control devices include remote control panels, DashBoard NK Switchboard, the virtual control panel
(NK-VCP), NK-GPI, NK-SCP/A and NK-SCP/K2.

LED Indicators
LED indicators are used to check the current operating status of a routing switcher. The primary Heartbeat LED
indicator is situated on the front panel of a router in the name badge. The NK-3G144 has additional LEDs on power
supplies and all of the cards. Details of the status of each LED are provided below.
Heartbeat LED
The front panel of the NK-3G144 has a Heartbeat LED. Following power-up, this LED flickers while the
NK-3G144 is initializing.
During normal operation, the LEDs indicate the flow of requests and responses between the remote control panel
and the routing switcher.

An alarm condition is current.
Green, white, blue

Solid
The CPU is not operating correctly.
