Rosemount Model P300 Pressure Validator
A-6
4. Following correct entry of the PIN, the
VOLTAGE
CALIBRATION
menu
is displayed:
APPLY
SHORT
.
5. Short out the validator voltmeter terminals. Press the
V
key. The
validator responds
READING
VALUE
, then prompts for the Full-
Scale reading to be applied as follows:
FULLSCALE
49.99
.
6. Remove the shorting link from the voltmeter terminals and apply
an external voltage source of approximately 50 V to the terminals.
If the reading on the validator does not match the voltage of the
calibrated digital voltmeter, change the display with the
P
and
I
keys as in Step 9 above for the Pressure Calibration
Adjustment Procedure. On acceptance of the Full-Scale
Voltage value, the validator responds by briefly displaying
READING
VALUE
then prompts for the calibration data to be
accepted:
ACCEPT
CAL
?
YES
NO
.
7. Press the
P
key to accept the new voltage calibration data or the
I
key to revert to the old calibration data. Acceptance is confirmed
by the
CAL
DONE
display. Rejection of the new calibration data is
confirmed by the
CAL
ABORTED
display.
8. Repeat the voltage calibration to verify that the correction has
been effective.
Calibrating Current
Measurement
To calibrate current measurement:
1. Connect the validator test leads to the common (black) and the I
(red) test sockets. Connect the validator terminals in series with a
calibrated digital milliammeter, preferably of greater accuracy
than the validator.
2. Enter the
CURRENT
CALIBRATION
menu by pressing and holding the
I
key while turning the validator on. The validator now briefly
indicates
CURRENT
CAL
before prompting for a password to allow
entry into the current calibration routine:
ENTER
PIN
: 000
.
3. Enter a valid calibration PIN (refer to Setting the PIN on page
3-3).
4. Following correct entry of the PIN, the current calibration menu
is displayed:
APPLY
OPEN
CIRCUIT
.
5. Open circuit the validator milliammeter terminals. Press the
V
key. The validator responds
READING
VALUE
then prompts for the
Full-Scale Current reading to be applied:
FULLSCALE
54.998
.
6. Connect the milliammeter in series with an external current
source. Apply a current of approximately 55 mA to the validator.
If the reading on the validator does not match the voltage of the
calibrated digital milliammeter, change the display with the
P
and
I
keys as in Step 9 above for the Pressure Calibration
Adjustment Procedure. On acceptance of the Full-Scale
Voltage value, the validator responds by briefly displaying
READING
VALUE
then prompts for the calibration data to be
accepted:
ACCEPT
CAL
?
YES
NO
.
7. On acceptance of the Full-Scale Current value, the validator
responds by briefly displaying
READING
VALUE
then prompting for
the calibration data to be accepted:
ACCEPT
CAL
?
YES
NO
.
8. Press the
P
key to accept the new current calibration data. Press
the
I
key to revert to the old calibration data. Acceptance is
confirmed by the
CAL
DONE
display. Rejection of the new
calibration is confirmed by the
CAL
ABORTED
display.
9. Repeat the current calibration check to verify that the correction
has been effective.
See Safety Messages on page A-1 for complete warning information.
