Rosemount Model P300 Pressure Validator
A-4
3. Enter the
PRESSURE
CALIBRATION
menu by pressing and holding
the
P
key while turning the validator on. The validator briefly
indicates
PRESSURE
CAL
before prompting for a PIN to allow entry
into the pressure calibration routine:
ENTER
PIN
: 000
.
4. Enter a valid calibration PIN (see Setting the PIN on page 3-3).
5. Following correct entry of the PIN, the first calibration point is
displayed, e.g.,
–
VE
FS
–12.75
.
6. Apply the lowest pressure to the validator from the pressure
standard. The lowest pressure is a vacuum if the validator is
equipped with the vacuum switch.
7. Allow the applied pressure to stabilize.
•
If the applied pressure matches the reading, repeat the
procedure with the next level of pressure.
•
If the applied pressure does not match the reading for any of
the three levels, do the recalibration task below.
To recalibrate the validator:
1. Press the
P
and
I
keys to enter the correct value for the –
VE FS
point:
a. Use the
P
key to scroll through digits 0–9 until the correct digit
is displayed.
b. Use the
I
key to move the cursor to the next digit position, then
use the
P
key to scroll through the digits. Repeat until all digits
show the correct value. Press the
V
key to accept the value.
c. The validator responds by displaying
READING
VALUE
. After
reading the
–
VE
FS
value, the validator prompts for the next
calibration pressure to be entered:
ZERO
POINT
0.001
.
2. Set the pressure standard to apply a pressure of zero.
3. If the validator reading does not match the applied pressure,
enter a new value for the Zero pressure as described for the
–
VE
FS
pressure in Step 9 above. The validator responds by
displaying
READING
VALUE
. After reading the Zero value, the
validator prompts for the next calibration pressure (Half FS) to be
entered:
HALF
FS
150.02
.
4. Do the procedure on the three levels of pressure.
For each acceptance of the
+
VE
FS
value, the validator responds
by briefly displaying
READING
VALUE
and prompting for
acceptance of the pressure calibration as follows:
ACCEPT
CAL
YES
NO
5. Press the
P
key to accept the new calibration data. Press the
I
key
to revert to the old calibration data. Acceptance is confirmed by
the
CAL
DONE
status display. Rejection of the new calibration is
confirmed by the
CAL
ABORTED
display. Aborting the calibration
run causes the validator to retain the original calibration data.
6. Repeat the calibration check to see that the correction has been
effective.
See Safety Messages on page A-1 for complete warning information.
