VALIDATOR SETUP
S
ETUP
Mode is used to set the validator parameters. Once these
parameters are set, they do not change until you enter the
SETUP
mode
again to change them. If the default factory settings are correct, you do
not need to perform setup.
S
ETUP
mode is used to:
• Set the battery status
• Set the user units configuration
• Set the user language
• Set the (PIN)
Entering Setup Mode
To enter
SETUP
mode:
1. Turn on the validator by pressing the
POWER
key.
2. Immediately press the
P
and
ZERO
keys simultaneously.
BATTERY
OK
,
CONFIGURATION
, then
ENTER
PIN
:__
will appear in the secondary
display.
3. Enter a valid PIN:
a. With the cursor at first digit, press the
P
key to scroll digits 1–
9.
b. Press the
I
key to move the cursor to the next position and
repeat Step 3a.
c. Press the
V
key to accept the completed PIN.
NOTE
The default PIN is 123. The PIN must be three digits.
Setting Battery Status
Upon entering
S
ETUP
Mode, the battery status is displayed. If the
battery status does not match the type of batteries being used, you
must change it.

To accept the configuration
Press the
V
key.
To change the configuration
Press the
P
key, then press the
V
key to accept the status displayed.
Setting User Units
Following selection of the battery type, the conversion factor for the
special user units is displayed, for example:
USER
PA
: 10000
This display indicates that 1 user unit = 10,000 Pa.
To set the user units:
1. With the flashing cursor at the first cursor position, press the
P
key to scroll through digits 1–9.
2. When the desired digit is displayed, press the
I
key to move to the
next cursor position.
3. Repeat this process until the desired number is displayed.
4. Press the
V
key to accept the entered value.

Standard dry cell or alkaline
Battery charging is inhibited.
NiCad
NiCad Rechargeable
Battery charging is enabled.
