PRESSURE GENERATION
PROCEDURE
NOTE
The pressure generation procedure below is used for all pressure
validation connections and is contained in the individual procedures.
This procedure is listed separately for the purpose of familiarizing you
with pressure generation techniques before performing validation
procedures.
NOTE
The pressure test port has a
1
/
8
–27 NPT female coupling. The pneumatic
hose must have a coupling device that fits this specification and must
also match the transmitter coupling. Ensure airtight seals on both the
validator end and the transmitter end.
1. Ensure the validator is off before making any connections.
2. Open the vent valve on the validator.
3. Connect the transmitter to the reference pressure port using a
pneumatic hose.
4. If the validator has a pressure/vacuum switch, set the selector
switch to + or – as required.
5. Close the vent valve finger tight.
6. Use the pressure pump to pressurize the system to within the
desired testing range.
7. Use the fine pressure adjuster to bring the pressure to the precise
measurement desired.
8. Open the vent valve to depressurize the system before
disconnecting.
NOTE
If the pressure rises above 120% Full Scale, the display will flash to
indicate an overrange condition.
