PIPE INTERFACING
Winded pipe interfacing is available on these organs with the following considerations:
1.
PIPE EXTENSIONS: There is only limited support for digital pipe extensions, so it is
very strongly recommended that all pipe ranks be full compass of 61 notes. (In many
cases it is possible to borrow the missing bass or treble notes from another pipe rank.)
2.
PIPES OFF: The PIPES OFF control functions by turning the pipe rank off and
simultaneously turning on the digital “backup” rank. There is no independent
ANCILLARY ON function on these organs.
3.
AUTO-TUNER: The Auto-Tuner system is not supported on these models.
4.
MIDI FUNCTIONALITY: The pipe interface on these organs uses the MIDI OUT
port on the console. If a PR300 or other sound module or sequencer is being used,
special cabling will be needed and, in some cases, may reduce performance of the
pipe interface and/or the module being used. This is generally only experienced with
simultaneous sequencing, multiple MIDI voice use, and large pipe implementations,
resulting in slow response from the various systems.
5.
CABLE LENGTHS: Because of MIDI limitations, there is a 50’ maximum length
between the console and the pipe-controller.
6.
Outside of these limitations, software can be programmed as flexibly as on the rest of
the Rodgers product lineup.
Ask your Rodgers dealer or authorized technician if you have further technical questions.
