SECTION 10: WIRING
Heaters can be controlled u sing se v eral methods.
Normally thermostats are u sed to control the heaters
b u t they can also be controlled by an Energy
Management System. Section 10.1 belo w ill u strates
the connection for heaters controlled by a line v oltage
thermostat. NOTE: In order to u se line v oltage ther-
mostats, the lo w v oltage terminal located at the back
of each b u rner m u st be connected as sho w n in the
detail. For a single heater on a lo w v oltage thermo-
stat, See Section 10.2 belo w . To control m u ltiple
heaters on one lo w v oltage thermostat, See Page 45,
Section 10.3 . NOTE: In order to control m u ltiple heat-
ers on one lo w v oltage thermostat, the lo w v oltage
terminals on each heater m u st be connected as
sho w n in detail. Heater m u st be gro u nded in accor-
dance w ith applicable codes: United States: refer to
National Electrical Code ® NFPA 70 - latest re v ision
Canada: refer to Canadian Electrical Code, CSA
C22.1 Part I - latest re v ision.If any of the original
internal w iring m u st be replaced, it m u st be replaced
w ith w iring materials ha v ing a temperat u re rating of at
least 105° C and 600 V.
