Step 6.5.1 Reflector, U-Clip and Reflector Support Installation
The pictorial dra w ings of the heater constr u ction in
Section 6 are schematic only and pro v ide a general
g u ideline of w here hangers, reflector s u pports and
U-clips are to be installed.
To ens u re proper expansion and contraction mo v e-
ment of the reflectors, a combination of U-clips and
reflector s
u pports are u sed. The positioning of reflec-
tor s u pports and U-clips depends on the indi v id u al
installation. Use either pop ri v ets or sheet metal
scre w s instead of u -clips w hen installing end caps
and joint pieces in areas w here impact and high w ind
may be a factor. The follo w ing r u les m u st be
obser v ed.
1. Slide first reflector after b urner a minimum 2” (4 cm) through first hanger and
ensure reflector end cap is securely fastened via U-clips, pop rivets, or sheet
metal screws. Position reflector support with tight screws in middle of first
reflector.
NOTE: High efficiency
reflectors should N OT
b e used in applications
exposed to wind.
