18  Reading the System Status Lights   

Reading the System Status Lights

System Status lights show the status of computer functions. The lights appear on 
the left edge of the computer (Figure 9).

Table 3 describes the meaning of the lights.

Function of Light

Power light: Light is green when the computer’s power is on. Light 
blinks when the computer is in Power On Suspend mode. (See ”Rest 
Mode” on page 64 for more information on Power On Suspend 
mode.)

Num Lock light: Light is on when the embedded numeric keypad is 
activated. See ”Using the Embeded Numeric Keypad” on page 13 for 
a description of the keypad.

Caps Lock light: Light is on when the caps lock function is activated. 
When the function is activated, all alphabetic characters you type will 
be in upper case.
