AUTOMATIC RETURN TO DOCK (Optional
ARTD) LIMIT SWITCH ADJUSTMENTS
Ensure lip is adjusted properly before proceeding.
(See page 14, Lip Assist Adjustment Procedure.)
See page 11, ARTD Operating Instructions prior to
adjusting the Automatic Return to Dock system.
Both the LS1 (Restrictor) and LS2 (ARTD) limit switches
must be held closed in order for unit to recycle.
LS1 (Restrictor Switch)
LS1 switch is activated by the main cylinder (see
page 18, Figure 20, LS1 and LS2). The holes in the limit
switch mounting plate are slotted so the limit switch may
be moved towards or away from the main cylinder. LS1
should remain activated from approximately 6 inches
above dock to the full below dock position.
Symptom:
During recycle the motor will shut off prior to the lip
reaching the pendant position.
Adjustment Procedure:
Move LS1 closer to the main cylinder (towards the rear
pit wall). This will let the unit raise higher before
releasing the limit switch.
LS2 (ARTD)
LS2 switch is activated by the recycle flag as the lip falls
towards the pendant position. The holes in the LS2
(ARTD) mounting plate are oversized. This gives you the
versatility of angling the plate up or down and moving
the plate forward or backward.
Symptom
Leveler will not recycle.
Adjustment Procedure:
Once the leveler reaches the below dock stops,
measure the vertical distance that the tip of the lip falls
before recycle starts. The leveler should begin to recycle
once the lip has fallen between 3 and 6 inches. See
Figure 15.
If the leveler is raising too high during recycle, see
Figure 16.
Moving the plate backwards (toward the
rear pit wall) will cause LS2 to be activated for a shorter
period of time.
If the leveler is not raising high enough, see Figure 17.
Moving the plate forward (towards the front of the pit) will
cause LS2 to be activated for a longer period of time.
If unit begins to recycle after the lip has fallen 6 inches,
see Figure 18
. Angling the plate up (towards the plat-
form) will cause LS2 to be activated earlier during the
lip’s travel towards the pendant position.
If unit begins to recycle before the lip falls at least
3 inches, see Figure 19.
Angling the plate down
(towards the pit floor) will cause LS2 to be activated
later during the lip’s travel towards the pendant position.
Lip Stop Bolt Adjustment
Adjust lip stop bolt so that the lip sits in both lip keeper
pockets. See Figure 14. If the bolt is out too far, the lip
will miss the lip keepers. If the bolt is set in too far, the
lip will hit the front frame angle.
