5. Press the
Ctrl
key, move the mouse cursor over the contour of the zero
model in the Cross Section window. Press the left mouse button, move the
position of the zero model.
6. Press the
Shift
key, move the mouse cursor over the contour of the zero
model in the Cross Section window. Press the left mouse button, rotate the
zero model.
7. Repeat steps 3-6 if necessary.
15.4. Aligning the null model and the scanned model.
Semi-automatic mode
Aligning the zero model and the scanned one in semi-automatic mode gives
good results only if both models are aligned along the longitudinal axis and have the
correct shape.
The alignment of the zero model and the scanned model is performed using the
functions available in the
Zero model alignment
group.
If the longitudinal axes of the zero model and the scanned one are parallel, do
the following:
1. Select the cross section in which the zero model and the scanned model have
the most correct shape.
2. Click the
Model
button. The algorithm will move the zero model in parallel,
aligning the contours of the scanned model and the zero model in the best
possible way.
If the longitudinal axes of the zero model and the scanned one are not parallel,
do the following:
1. On the left edge of the scanned model, select the cross section in which the
zero model and the scanned model have the most correct shape.
2. Click the
Cross Cut
button. The algorithm will align the contours of the
scanned model and the zero model along the left edge.
