Setup Mode
4.9.1 To enter setup mode, first press the „Timer“ button and hold it. Second, press
and hold the „Position“ button. Hold both together for 4 seconds. A “beep” is
heard.
4.9.2 The button „Timer“ is used to move forward through the different configu-
ration option. „Recall“ button is used to change an option configuration.
4.9.3 In Setup mode, can query software version, change Celsius and Fahrenheit
scales, display battery power, display the serial number of the probe.
4.9.4 After 30 seconds automatically exit the Setup mode, or move the probe out
and back in again.
4.10 Recall last temperature
4.10.1 After each temperature measurement, a “long beep” is heard. The “beep”
indicates the temperature measurement has been completed and stored and
is available for recall. This temperature can be recalled after the probe is
returned to the probe insert.
4.10.2 To recall the most recent temperature measurement, press and release
button „Recall“ on the front panel. The last measurement and “Recall” taken
will appear for several seconds.
4.10.3 After a new measuring erases last temperature memory.
If the most recent temperature measurement was incomplete or out of
range, dashes will appear on the display during the recall operation.
4.11 Pulse timer mode
4.11.1 The
ri-
thermo
®
fastPRObe Thermometer may also be used to help
measure a patient’s pulse rate.
4.11.2 To access, do not remove probe from the probe insert.
Press and release the button „Timer“ on the front panel. The clock icon and
0.0 will be displayed. Press and release the button „Timer“ a second time to
start the timer and elapsed time display.
4.11.3 A “beep” is sounded at 15 seconds, 2 beeps at 30 seconds, 1 beep at 45
seconds and 2 beeps at 60 seconds. The count stops at 60 seconds. Pressing
the button „Timer“ again will restart the counter.
4.11.4 The Timer mode will turn off automatically, 30 seconds after stopping at 60
or whenever the probe is removed from the probe insert.

Cleaning and Disinfection
5.1 General Information
Cleaning and disinfection of medical products protects patients, users and third
parties, lead to value retention of medical products. Due to product design and
materials used there is no possibility to define the maximum limit of re-processing
cycles. The lifetime of a medical product is determined by its function and how it is
used. Before sending back defective products for repair, the following instructions
should be followed.
5.2
Cleaning and Disinfection
The

thermo
®
fastPRObe Thermometer can be cleaned on the outside (with the
exception of the display glass cover) using a damp cloth until optical cleanliness is
achieved. Use disinfection products only according to the manufacturer’s instruc-
tions. Only disinfectants with proven effectiveness according to national guidelines
should be used. After disinfection, please wipe the instruments using a damp cloth
in order to eliminate any remnants of the disinfectant.
