3.7 Operations and standard control options
3.7.1 Unit start/stop control
Unit status is determined according to a series of factors in-
cluding operation type, active bypasses, open contacts, mas-
ter/slave configuration or alarms triggered by the operating
conditions.
The table below shows the unit control types [ctrl_typ] and
their operating status compared to the following parameters:
Operation type: This type of operation is selected using the
Start/Stop push-buttons on the user interface.
LOFF : Local off
L-C : Local on
L-SC : Local scheduling
Rem : Remote
Net : Network
Mast : Master unit
Start/stop control bypass [CHIL_S_S]: Start/stop control bypass
can be used to control chiller status in Network mode.
− Control set to stop: The unit will be stopped.
− Control set to start : The unit is started as indicated by
scheduling 1.
Remote start/stop contact status [Onoff_sw] : Start/stop con-
tact status can be used to control chiller status in Remote op-
eration mode.
Master control [ms_ctrl] type
: When the unit is the master unit.
In a master/slave layout with two chillers, the master unit can
be set to be locally controlled from remote or through network.
Start/stop scheduling [chil_occ] : Unit occupied or unoccupied
status.
Emergency stop of the network [EMSTOP] : If activated, the unit
will stop immediately regardless of the active operation type.
General alarm : The unit will turn off due to a fault.

When the unit is about to stop or when there is a request to stop the unit, the compressors are stopped as well. In case of
emergency stop all compressors are stopped at the same time.
