III. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING!
When using electric tools, basic safety precautions should always be followed to
reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and personal injury including the following.
Read and become familiar with all the instructions manual before attempting to operate this
product.
Keep these instructions for future reference and use them to train others who may use the tool.
If you lend or pass the tool, ensure to attach these instructions so that any user can refer to them.
3.1- General safety instructions
1. Consider work area environment
- Do not expose tool to rain, moisture or humidity.
Water entering a tool may increase the risk of electrical hazard and damage.
- Work only if there is good lighting (i.e. sunlight or sufficient artificial light).
- Beware product stability, only install product on flat, solid ground
2. Keep other persons away
- Do not let persons, especially children, not involved in the work touch the tool and keep them
away from tool and work area.
Any distraction can make you lose control of your work.
If someone calls you, stop the shredder before turning towards the caller.
- Only operator or user must be in working area. Keep children, animals and bystanders at a safe
distance.
- Keep the product away from children or from their environment. Never allow children to operate
the tool. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the tool.
3. Store idle tools
When not in use, tool should be stored in a dry locked-up place, out of reach of children.
4. Use the right tool
- Do not force small tools to do the job of a heavy duty tool.
- Do not use tool for purposes not intended or for unsuitable purposes
- Only use the machine for the purposes described in the instructions manual.
5. Dress properly – Wear proper working clothing!
- Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery or tie or scarf; they can be caught in moving parts.
- Non-skid footwear is recommended when working outdoors.
Never operate the machine with barefoot or open sandals.
- Wear protective gloves.
- Wear protective hair covering to contain long hair.
6. Use protective equipment during operation:
- Use safety glasses or goggles or faceshield
- Use face or dust protection mask if working operation creates dust.
- The noise level in the working area is above 85 dB (A). Therefore, wear ear protection (to avoid
hearing loss hazard).
7. Do not overreach
Avoid any abnormal posture. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
8. Maintain tools with care
- Abide by the maintenance and accessories replacement regulations
- Keep cutting tools sharp and clean for better and safer performance.
- Follow instructions for lubricating and changing accessories.
- Keep handles dry, clean and free from oil and grease.
- It is your own interest to keep your machine clean at any time.
- After you finish working, check the machine for any damage.
9. Stay alert
Watch what you are doing. Use common sense. Do not operate tool when you are tired, under the
influence of alcohol, prescription medicines or drugs.
10. Check damaged parts
- Before further use or reuse of the tool, tool should be carefully checked to determine that it will
operate properly and perform its intended function.
